Dodging and Burning
Just like Photoshop.....Actually, many areas of Photoshop and Lightroom get not only their techniques, but also their terminology from the darkroom.
DodgingWhen you dodge, you cover a specific area of a photo as you expose the paper. In this way, the covered area gets less light from the enlarger, and therefore, that area is lighter on the print.

BurningBurning is the opposite of dodging. In burning, you cover an area of the picture who's exposure is correct. To burn, you add more time (more light) and expose that area longer, giving you a darker "burned in" area.
